PMI Educational Foundation
What is the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF)?
The PMI Educational Foundation is a non-profit, public charitable organization and the philanthropic arm of the Project Management Institute (PMI). PMIEF views project management as a critical skill for everyone, especially the 7 billion people around the world who are unfamiliar with it. While PMI focuses on making project management indispensable for business results, PMIEF focuses on bringing the power of project management to the rest of society.
PMIEF Goals
The PMIEF’s programs areas are centered on leveraging project management for improving society in three areas:
- Build a better prepared workforce through academic scholarships, awards, internships, doctoral research grants and professional development scholarships.
- Prepare youth for success in life through educational resources, programs and workshops in project management.
- Use PMIEF grants, scholarships and workshops to help people in need by aiding disaster relief, nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations to better utilize their limited resources.
Resources for Youth
PMIEF’s Resources for Youth materials provides no-cost project management learning and teaching curriculum and other materials for primary and secondary school teachers and students to develop 21st century skills.

Doctoral Research Grants - PMIEF gives grants to doctoral students at accredited colleges and universities for research projects in project, program, and/or portfolio management.

Resources for Nonprofits and NGOs
PMIEF's resources provide no-cost project management learning for nonprofits and NGOs to become more effective and efficient, and to help in recovery efforts to rebuild after disasters strike.
