Blog post by PMI Southwest Missouri Chapter President Darin Ellingsworth, PMP, MSPM, ET.

I would like to welcome you to the new President's Blog here on the PMI Southwest Missouri website. Over the next 12 months as your chapter president I will be posting a monthly blog post in an effort to share knowledge, ideas, and increase member engagement.

One thing to keep in mind that this is your chapter and I and the other board of directors are here to assist with your professional development needs.  We may not have all of the answers right away but we do have a wide array of resources available to us to get you answers to your questions.  If you have any specific project management needs, let us know.  If through own experience in leading projects or serving on project teams that you have something to share, by all means, reach out to us and let us know.

We are eager to hear what you have to say.  Each of us lives in our own little project world and it is good for each of us to share our war stories and share our battle scars.  A large part of how we have made it to where we are is due to our experiences and no two of us are the same.

Please don't leave me sitting here talking to myself.  Feel free to comment, post your thoughts, and argue with me if you must, there is no harm in a spirited debate.  That's how we can take ordinary ideas and turn them into something great.  I look forward to serving you and your chapter as President for 2016.

Look forward to the February post on Trust.

Thank you,

Darin Ellingsworth, PMP, MSPM

Book reviews are always appreciated :-) I've got Rita's PMP study guide on the way since I'm starting work on the PMP now that my master's is done. But anything from agile to lean to leadership-focused books would be great to read reviews on.
