January 2011 Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for January 18, 2011, at the Candlewood Suites South in Springfield, Mo. The address for Candlewood Suites South is:

The meeting will start at 6:30 PM, but the doors open at 6:00 to give everyone a chance to “meet and greet” fellow attendees.

This month’s speaker will be chapter VP of Professional Development and Programs, Brad Tummons, MHA, PMP. Brad will lead a session designed around the planning process area. This program will be an interactive format and focus on various real world applications of various planning processes in your project. This session aligns with PMBOK 4th Edition, section 3.4, “Planning Process Group”.

Remember, this will be a PDU event. Attendees will earn 1 PDU. Individuals involved in project management in all industries are welcome and encouraged to attend. You DO NOT have to be PMI certified or a PMI member to attend. Project Managers of all industries are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Here is a little more information about this month’s speaker:
Brad Tummons is a PMP certified project manager and is currently managing medium and large-scale programs and projects for Jack Henry and Associates in Monett Missouri. He graduated with a BS in Computer Information Systems from Missouri State in 2003 and a Masters in Healthcare Administration in 2008. Brad hold work experience in several industry sectors including PCB manufacturing, software development, logistics, and extended heath care. Brad has served on the PMI SWMo chapter formation committee and as VP of Programs and Professional development since the chapter’s inception. Brad is also active in the Rotaract Club of Springfield and O’Sullivan Lodge #7.
